On 4 February 2026, policymakers, researchers, students, and cross-sector representatives gathered for a Policy Dialogue Session organised by NWO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Vice Versa. Showcasing research from the SDG Interactions programme, the session explored how SDG interactions can support more just, inclusive, and coherent policy. Framed around Debunking Notions, discussions examined how stereotypes and power dynamics shape whose knowledge is valued, leading to concrete policy recommendations. A few months ago The Knowledge Brokering Synthesis team invited current and recently graduated Master students to submit compelling and original essays exploring how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) interact, both positively and negatively. After careful consideration of submissions, the Knowledge Brokering and Synthesis team would like to announce the winning essays.

The Knowledge Brokering and Synthesis project organized a series of focus group discussions. These discussion, which took place between February and April of 2025, brought together doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working on different countries – ranging from South Asia to East Africa – and different research topics – ranging from women’s empowerment to climate smart agriculture.
